Avery Elle … SHARK HUGS

Hey there Avery Elle fans!  I’m on the Avery Elle Blog today with a card featuring a handsome lil’ shark that just wants to find love!  How are going to resist that cheeky wee grin?  He definitely doesn’t want to eat you, he just wants to cuddle 😉
I’ve created a video to share how this card came together but be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart!!

I stamped the images from the Shark Hugs set and coloured them using Copics.  To give the shark some texture, I used the colourless blender (0) and a white gel pen to add some detail.  Included in the die set is a small die that cuts around the fins so that his little offerings can be held in his hands (um, fins)!
For the background I die cut the Three Hearts die from the card base and adhered some red spotty paper from the Holiday Paper Pad behind it with foam tape.  I added the sentiment and a few heart and finished by adding some Glossy Accents to the rose and the tiny heart on the envelope.
Here’s another sample using the Shark Hugs stamp set.  This time I stamped Hug Me in the centre of the bitten heart and coloured it red with drops of blood falling from it!  Perhaps a card for the couple with a slightly darker sense of humour (cough, me, cough!!) ??

Avery Elle … Cupids

Hey there, the team at Avery Elle are sharing creations this week made with the gorgeous Cupids stamp set and dies.  These guys are the cutest and make for great Valentines cards.

I paired one of the cupids with the Heart Frame Elle-ments and some patterned paper from the Holiday paper collection.

I stamped the cupid and the clouds and then die cut and coloured them with Copics.  To add some shimmer I used Copic Spica pens on the pants and heart and a Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen on the clouds, wings and hair.

Before assembling the pieces I used Heidi Swapp gold lame spray to add a few splatters of gold and painted it on to the hearts on the Heart Frame die cut too.

Get Cracking on Christmas – December 2019

So we’ve made it to month 12!  I have to say, this year has been tough on trying to get time to myself to craft and for sure my gift to myself this year will be the promise of more crafting time in 2020!  For those new to this challenge, it was dreamed up a couple of years ago by the fabulous Jenn ShurkusChari Moss, Libby Hickson and Cheiron Brandon.  We all agreed that the stress you suffer when trying to create Christmas cards in December along with everything else going on could be eased by pledging to make one holiday card every month throughout the year.  I haven’t managed to play along every month but I’m thankful for the months I’ve have managed it.

And here’s one for December.  I made this for my ma and pa! (Obviously!!)

I started with a square card and used Catherine Pooler Twilight ink to stamp the holly image from Mondo Holly by Ellen Hutson (LOVE this stamp set).  I coloured it with Prismacolour pencils (not my greatest skill I’ll admit) – may stick with Copics in future!!)  Once coloured I added lots of sparkle with Tim Holtz Distress Glitter (which helps to hide the not-so-perfect colouring, lol)!!

For the sentiment I pulled out a set I almost forgot I owned – I’m keeping it at arm’s reach from now on though – it’s so great) – the Sophisticated script Upper Case and Lowercase sets from Concord and 9th.  I stamped it in the same Twilight ink and used the Merry Christmas from the Mondo Holly set.
