Simon Says … Add a Sentiment featuring Memory Box

Image

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Wrap it Up Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Memory Box Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

I made a simple, last minute Christmas card this week using one of my favourite paper packs from this year – Jolly Christmas from Memory Box.

I started with an A2 card and cut a piece of the patterned tartan paper to size covering the front of the card.

I wanted the sentiment to be the main focus so I die cut the large Noel from Tim Holtz Big Tidings die set from the gold Simon Says Stamp Luxe Glitter cardstock (so divine)! I also ocut a couple of the sparkle dies to add a bit more balance. I cut some back foliage using the Pointy Pine Sprigs die from Simon Says Stamp and put it behind the sentiment and then popped everything onto the card front.

Simon Says … Wrap it Up featuring Paper Rose

Image

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Sparkle and Shine Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Paper Rose Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

Each year I like to create personalised favours for the family for Christmas day. For this year I made these cute little boxes with chocolates from a gorgeous collection of papers called Christmas Holly Basics 6×6 from Paper Rose. I added a monogram for each of the family using Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Dies (I used Varsity which is no longer at Simon but any alphabet die set will work just as well). I added foliage die cuts using Tim Holtz Vault Festive Wreath and Vintage Sled Die sets.

To make the boxes, I trimmed each piece of paper to 6×4″ and rolled each one gluing the edges to create a cylinder. I pinched one side flat and glued the end closed using liquid adhesive ( keep some bulldog clips handy to hold the paper together as it dries). Fill the box with a treat of your choice and then seal the other end in the opposite direction to the first end – creating a triangle/pyramid type shape. Then I added the monogram die cuts to the front of the box.

The last bits are optional but I like to trim each end using pinking scissors and then use a paper crimper to add a little extra detail to the finished look.

Simon Says … Sparkle and Shine featuring Concord & 9th

Image

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Use Dies Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Concord and 9th Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

Dis someone say “sparkle”? Well you asked the right person – my blog isn’t called Glitter Me Silly for no reason!

I’m excited to be playing with some fun stamps, dies and stencils this week to create a sparkling extravaganza! I used glitter (fine AND chunky) AND I added sparkly gems too!

I started by die cutting a panel from white cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp A2 Rectangle dies (I use these ALL THE TIME!). I took the Gina K Stellar Snowflake Stencil blended Tumbled Glass Ink then put a layer of Distress Translucent Texture Paste over it. Whilst it was wet I added Distress Chunky Glitter and set it aside to dry.

Next I stamped the Merry and Bright sentiment from the Concord and 9th Season’s Greetings Stamps and Die Bundle in Cranberry ink from Concord and 9th and die cut it using the co ordinating die. I stained some Distress Rock Candy Glitter using Cranberry Alcohol ink and when it was dry, added it to the sentiment!

If that wasn’t quite sparkly enough, I added some red rhinestones to finish it off!
