Simon Says … Add Some Texture featuring Tim Holtz

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Stamp It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too

This week the challenge is

ADD SOME TEXTURE

We are showcasing Time Holtz Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

My make this week isn’t a card but it certainly contains a lot of texture!! I’m obsessed with vintage style Christmas ornaments – especially the old diorama style ones. My gran had them on her tree every year and I was mesmerised.

I started with some clear plastic, 2 piece baubles from Amazon. The front half has an opening so when they’re put together there’s a window into the little scene inside.

On the back halves I adhered metallic foil leaf – silver on the inside and bright pink, green, aqua etc on the outside. The colours give a really nostalgic feel.

To give the kaleidoscope effect you see on the indent style ornaments I used holographic cardstock (which reflets inside the silver foiled bauble beautiful using the Tim Holtz Rosette strip die but you could create them using the Vault Rosette Die also.

For the inside of each of the baubles I used Ranger Opaque Texture Paste to create a base to stick my scene elements into. I used Ideaology Salvaged Snowman Santa and Reindeer. I used Ideaology Bubbles and Baubles, Confections and Rock Candy Glitter and just created little Christmas vignettes inside each one.
