Jolly Santa in Red

I’m so in the Christmas groove I can’t handle it!! And there are no two stamps sets that make a more festive combo than the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous sets – Jolly Santa and Perfect Plaids.

I started with a green card base and took some red card stock and stamped one of the plaid stamps in black. I die cut this using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and adhered it to the card. I also stamped the border image and adhered that along the edge.

I used a couple of different green cardstocks and die cut a variety of sprigs from the Large Funky Festive die set by Tim Holtz Sizzix and arranged them behind the big Santa image which was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and coloured with Distress Watercolour Pencils.

Avery Elle … Winder Woodland Wonders

Hi, it’s Caryn here kicking off a week of Winter Woodland Wonders inspiration!  This set is packed full of cute festive critters and makes scene-building a breeze!

I started with a cream card base and cut a panel using the larges of the Double Pierced Rectangles Elle-ments.  I blended my background using Distress Oxide inks and then splattered a little shimmer spray on it for some subtle texture.

I stamped the robin, polar bear and trees in New Moon Dye Ink and coloured with Copics and added a few details here and there with Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.  Finally I stamped the sentiment in black and popped my die cut pieces onto the card using foam tape.

My NEW SOMETHING for this challenge is the Limited Edition December Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.  Although the kit sold out in record time the star of the show (in my humble opinion) is the stamp set – Swell Christmas – which is still very much available!  Anyone who follows me will know that vintage Christmas is my thing!  I love the style and feel of everything that kitsch and retro Christmas offers and this stamp set is so COOL!  I madde a coupls of cards featuring the fab Santa image!
