This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Simon Says Stamp Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

So who knows what this card is telling you about me?? That’s right, I LOVE Tiffany jewellery and I’m lucky that my hubby has treated me to a few pieces over the years. There’s nothing like getting that instantly recognisable box and white ribbon! So when I pulled this True Love by Tim Holtz die set out along with the Perfect Bow die from Simon Says Stamp, the idea of a Tiffany box of chocolates was born!!

I created the card base from the perfect Tiffany blue (Audrey Blue by Simon) and added the sentiment and trim using Holographic card. I cut the bow and added ribbon strips using Neenah Solar White. The sentiment is a retired Avery Elle die set but a very similar one by Concord and 9th is available HERE)

I then went to work making the chocolates using different cardstocks (white, brown, blue and beige. The wrappers are cut from vellum. I coated them all in Glossy Accents then added them to the card base.

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $25 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Simon Says … Anything Goes featuring Spellbinders

Image

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Funny/Punny Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Spellbinders Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

My hubby’s favourite alcoholic drink is a Negroni (yuk)! So when I saw the Spellbinders Love on The Rocks die set I knew I could create his favourite tipple in card form for Valentine’s day. Of course there was no appropriate sentiment available so being a huge pun lover, I thought up my own and printed it onto my card panel!! I have to say – I’m chuffed with myself at getting not just one but TWO puns in on the same sentiment!!!

I created a panel from Distress Watercolour Cardstock and used the smooshing technique (smoosh some Distress ink – I used Wild Honey and spray with water then lay the paper down to pick up the ink). I die cut the panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies. Once it was dry I printed my sentiment onto it.

I die cut all my pieces from the Love On The Rocks die set using gold foil card for the glass and shades of orange for the drink. To give the drink a bit of “movement” I ran the die cut piece through my machine using the Cobblestone Mini Embossing Folder from Tim Holtz. The orange slices are from the Spellbinders Market Fresh collection and Simon Says Stamp has a similar one here. I coloured some watercolour cardstock with Distress inks (Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade) and die cut them. I added some Glossy Accents for a more “juicy” appearance!

I adhered everything onto an orange card base with some gold thread under the die cuts and added some heart droplets to finish.

Merry Christmas

Yes, I know! It’s January! But, hear me out … Christmas is a state of mind – I feel like any day can be a day for Christmas crafting! I’m on a mission this year to create Christmas cards all year long. It’s my favourite! I also want to use the enormous collection of stamps, dies, papers and supplies that have been sitting neglected in my craft room so this card is a good start!

The papers are from My Mind’s Eye from the SUgar Plum collection. I adore this colour combo so much.I used the Phrase Builder Happy Holidays die set from Pink Fresh Studio and the mistletoe is from the Hoosier Cabinet Holiday Add-Ons die set from Honey Bee Stamps.
