Geometric Rose

Did you know that Steph has just added some amazing new stand-alone dies to the Clearly Besotted store??  Well, now you do!!  She has described them as her “staples” – her “go-to” shapes and so thought it fitting to have them available in her store.  And boy am I glad she did!  They are so fun – I had a play with one of them last night – the Large Geometric Rose.  I thought I’d play with a few colours and came up with this bold flower design – isn’t it cool?

The sentiment is from A Little Sentimental – if you don’t have this set then you NEED to get it NOW!!  I curved the stamp on my block and stamped it 4 times to go around the flower.  This week’s Card Concept challenge is to “Use a Floral theme” so I am sharing this with the girls over there.  I don’t classify my style as “clean and graphic”very often but I’m pretty sure this is where this card would fit!!!

Edited to add – check out fellow DT Michelle’s blog – she’s been playing with this die too!!!

A vision in pink.

Just whizzing in with a quick post to share the card I’ve whipped up for the current challenge at The Card Concept.  The theme this time is “Monochromatic Pink” so I pulled out one of my new purchases – the fabby Spiffy Scooters from Paper Smooches.  Perfect for a bit of paper piecing as it has quite large open spaces on the image.  I think this falls into the “Clean and Layered” category once again – beginning to think that’s my style as they’ve all been that so far!!!

Hope you’re enjoying the weekend and the weather isn’t too bad where you are?

A floral birthday

Hey there – happy weekend-eve!  Can’t tell you how pleased I am that it’s Friday – what a week!! I’m sharing a card with more Fresh Cut Florals today paired with a fabulous sentiment from Clearly Besotted’s Say It in Style set.  Once again my skill at photographing gold embossing has let me down – need some tips!!

This card was inspired by the 2nd challenge over at The Card Concept…. Use Texture.  I used my MS mini scoreboard again to create the debossed lines on my panel and then brayered over it to highlight them.  Now – is this Clean and Layered or is it bordering on Shabby Chic??  Just not sure but I’m sure it’s one of them!!

Right, I’m off to get myself a nice warm cuppa – it’s FREEZING here at the moment!

Have a lovely evening where ever you are in the world xxx
