Life is a Storybook

Hello – it’s Saturday – yay!  I hope it’s a good weekend where ever you are?!  I’m here to share a couple of cards I made using the September 2014 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp  called Life is a Storybook. I received my kit a couple of weeks ago but this is the first time I’ve had a chance to play with it!  I love the October Afternoon papers and stickers that came with the kit -they have a lovely, vintage charm to them.  The stamp set is great too – great little scene building images and sentiments.

My first card primarily features the stamp set.  I’ve used all Avery Elle pigment inks (spotted any of the new colours in there??!)  – they’re gorgeous!Sep card kit 2The second card focuses on the fabulous papers and stickers from the kit.  The only stamp I’ve used is the little picture frame.  The images in the frame were picked out from one of the patterned papers!

I’m very busy preparing samples for the upcoming release from Avery Elle – there’s some AMAZING new stamps and dies coming soon and you’re going to LOVE them!  Did I mention new inks?  And a new paper pad??  Can’t wait!

The holidays are coming….

Ok – it’s still August but for a papercrafter that means it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming festive holidays such as Halloween and Christmas.  I have to admit that this last three months of the year is my MOST favourite season – I love the Autumn, Halloween, 3 of my children (and myself) have birthdays and then IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!  It’s a wonderful time of year in our house.  So in the spirit of the festive season (soon) I have a dainty little Christmas card to share!!

Today also sees the start of a new challenge today over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Blog and this week theme is everyone’s favourite… ANYTHING GOES!  The design team are featuring products from Memory Box but you don’t have to to enter.

Anything Goes Memory Box

Lately I’ve seen Debby Hughes making lots of cards in a smaller scale (4 bar size) which really appeals to me and is perfect for this little deer die.  I’ve used the Mini Stardust Stencil with some gorgeous silver-glitter sparkle medium with the Leaping Deer die both from Memory Box.  I covered the die cut deer in Versamark and then embossed him in silver fine embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Pretty Poinsettia from Clearly Besotted and is also embossed in silver.

II can’t believe the summer is almost at an end – it always makes me a little sad but the start of a new term is always exciting so lets see how you mark the occasion!!

I love the MFT background stamps – they’re so detailed yet stamp perfectly.  I used the Typewriter Text backfround stamp from MFT and some other stamps from Clearly Besotted.  I also had my first play with Distress Markers – and then ordered a whole heap more!!!

back to schoolDon’t forget Simon Says Stamp have a $50 gift voucher for one one lucky, randomly drawn participant!  Yay!!
