Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Favorite Technique/Product Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

I don’t know about you but I’m starting to get that Summer feeling – I’m off to the Glastonbury Festival this week which is very exciting (although the weather forecast isn’t looking too summery right now).  Anyway, to brighten up your day here’s a card made with the Simon Says Stamp June card kit.  I used Ranger Dye inks and my MISTI to get a multi coloured rainbow on the stamp.  I then simply added a piece of the washi tape (also in the kit) and a few Doodlebug sprinkles for some extra texture.

Simon Says … use your favourite products or technique

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Friends/Superhero Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

USE YOUR FAVORITE TECHNIQUE and/or PRODUCT

What is YOUR favorite technique ? Do you like to stencil, paper piece, splatter,watercolor and what is your favorite product ? Do you like sequins, twine, ribbons, charms, die cuts ? We would love to know a few of your favorite things !

At the moment I’m in love with all things “water-coloury”!  I have lots of different mediums (Kuretake Gansai thingies, Spectrum Noir Aqua markers, the new Zig Clean Colour markers) and of course one of my favourites, Distress pads and markers.  As we’re featuring Ranger products this week I decided to play with my Distress markers and indulge in a bit of water-colour therapy!  I stamped the gorgeous magnolias from Altenew in Versamark ink and embossed them in Ranger gold embossing powder.  I then used a combination of Distress markers (scribbled on to a sheet) in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry.  I flooded the area inside the embossing with water and then just let the ink do it’s workby picking it up with a paintbrush and dropping the colour in.  Once I let it air dry I stamped the greeting from the brand new Big Scripty Greetings set from the Simon Says Stamp Color of Fun Release in Versamark and again, embossed it in gold.  I mounted the panel onto the front of an A2 card leaving no edge – a nice, clean and simple card to send someone a much needed hug.

Sadly, this card is for a friend of mine who has just lost her husband – an amazing man who was suddenly taken from us last Sunday.  You may remember I made a card for them when they celebrated their “joint 40th” birthdays a few months ago (HERE).  Danny was just 40 and was taking part in a Triathlon in North Wales when he collapsed and tragically passed away.  He was a great guy and you can read about his story here  – and if you feel like you want to help Nicki continue to raise money for his beloved charities then that would be awesome too.  The links are HERE and HERE.

Simon Says Stamp – The Colour of Fun

I’m so excited by the brand new release from Simon Says Stamp called The Colour of Fun.  How can you be totally inspired by that colour palette – it’s just so scrummy!  I can’t wait to collect all of those new inks but in the meantime I have been having a wee play with some of the other new products in this release.  My first card features an AMAZING die – I just LOVE it.  I die cut the circle sentiment and cupcake from white card and popped out the frosting part of the cake and scribbled some RV81 (Rose pink) Copic marker over it (just roughly, I didn’t want it to be too smooth.  I coated it in Glossy Accents and then sprinkled some distress glitter on the top.  I used a panel of patterned paper from the Sorbet collection from Avery Elle and mounted it all onto an Avery Elle notecard.

My next card is a clean and simple one layer card using the Many Thanks stamp set and the Big Scripty Greetings set.  There is a design for everyone in this release – I have so much on my wish list!!
