Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Furry Friends Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

GET IN SHAPE

We don’t mean start a diet and exercise regime, haha, nothing as drastic as that we are just asking for no square or rectangle cards this week!

We are showcasing LAWN FAWN PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

I am IN LOVE with Lawn Fawn products so am so happy that the DT are featuring them this week. One of the newest additions to my LF collection is So Jelly – I just love this set! I thought it would pair very nicely with the Fish and Bowl dies from Simon Says Stamp so although this is a teeny little card, it’s as cute as a button!!

I coloured the jellies with Copics and used distress ink to blend a simple background. I needed a short little sentiment to fit to decided to use the Milo’s ABC’s set to customise the card with the word Jello (as opposed to Hello – geddit??!!)!

Can’t wait to see all the shaped cards this week!

Simon Says Stamp – The Colour of Fun

I’m so excited by the brand new release from Simon Says Stamp called The Colour of Fun. How can you be totally inspired by that colour palette – it’s just so scrummy! I can’t wait to collect all of those new inks but in the meantime I have been having a wee play with some of the other new products in this release. My first card features an AMAZING die – I just LOVE it. I die cut the circle sentiment and cupcake from white card and popped out the frosting part of the cake and scribbled some RV81 (Rose pink) Copic marker over it (just roughly, I didn’t want it to be too smooth. I coated it in Glossy Accents and then sprinkled some distress glitter on the top. I used a panel of patterned paper from the Sorbet collection from Avery Elle and mounted it all onto an Avery Elle notecard.

My next card is a clean and simple one layer card using the Many Thanks stamp set and the Big Scripty Greetings set. There is a design for everyone in this release – I have so much on my wish list!!

This week’s challenge was the perfect excuse for me to get inky with some gorgeous distress inks and the FANTASTIC new Flamingo dies from My Favourite Things. I just love these flamingos – I have a real thing for them (and so does my daughter Olivia – she’s obsessed!). I love this Vine stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop, I’ve used it many times and thought it would make the perfect backdrop for my birds. I blended some Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass distress inks onto my card front panel with a mini ink blending tool keeping it heavier at the bottom and fading towards the top and stamped the sentiment from the co-coordinating MFT stamp set, Tickled Pink in Versafine black Onyx ink. Once that was done I sprinkled a little Sea Foam mist from Heidi Swapp to give a little texture and shimmer. The flamingos were cut from a couple of shades of pink cardstock and I added a little shading to the wing with a Copic marker and finished with some Wink of Stella clear . For a wee bit more interest I added a panel of vellum between the card base (a Sea Glass notecard from the Carribean Collenction by Avery Elle – don’t know what I did before these!!) and my card is done!!
