The Perfect Day

1_323194_FS

I’ve been playing again with the Simon Says Stamp May Card kit and I am totally in love with the soft colours and gold accents – such a sophisticated palette.  I love the kits for being able to pull together a card that looks so professional and cohesive – I so enjoy getting them every month.

May CK 1 cuI used some of the stunning My Mind’s Eye papers and accented with a few extra bits of gold bling (some gold thread and sequins) and the card came together in no time.

I’m loving the sneak peeks we’re starting to see for the June kit too – can’t wait for that box of yumminess to land on my doorstep!!

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

LET’S GET SENTIMENTAL

Simply use a sentiment on your project ! There are so many fabulous sentiment stamps, dies, stencils, stickers etc that is is nice to let them take centre stage once in a while don’t you think ?

We are showcasing TIM HOLTZ PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I’m not gonna lie, whenever I see the words “Tim Holtz” a wee shiver of fear goes down my spine, lol!  I struggle to make his products look as good as everyone else does, not sure what it is – I think it’s the whole “grungy” thing!  Anyhoo, I decided I could still do Clean and Simple and use a Tim Holtz stamp!  So I grabbed the gorgeous Simon Says Stamp May card kit and created a simple card using this lovely sentiment stamp.  If you haven’t seen this kit ye then I urge you to check it out.  I love getting the monthly kits, they are always so inspiring and great for when your mojo needs a kick up the bum!!

Make A Wish!

April 2015 CK

Hello there!  I FINALLY got a chance to play with the SCRUMPTIOUS Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit!  I’ve been so busy over the Easter holidays with quite a few deadlines to meet and my poor kit sat there on the perimeter of my desk calling me “use, me, use me”!!  So, as soon as I got a minute I pulled it out and had a play.  I have another couple of cards in progress (shame work has to go and spoil things – humph) but this is my first one so thought I’d get on with sharing it.

April CK 1

I LOVE the foiled kraft papers in this kit – I don’t think this gold trend is going anywhere soon!  I used one of my new acquisitions – the Pretty Pink Posh Sitched Banner Duo die to die cut the centre panel.  I stamped the candle from the fabulous stamp set included in the kit onto vellum  (I LOVE this stamp set!!) and embossed them in gold and then created a little shaker window with some yummy sequins from my chum Lucy (see Lucy’s new Folksy shop for these sequin mixes – they are fantastic!).  For my inky background panel I gathered my distress inks and blended and blended until I had a really intense orangey design.  I splattered some Heidi Swapp gold spray and love how it kinda looks like bokeh?  Or is it me, lol!!  Finally I stamped and embossed the big sentiment from the stamp set on the bottom and adhered the lot to a top folding A2 card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
