Aw, Christmas is definitely in the air for me (and my long-suffering family) now!  I’ve started my shopping and planning and am starting to get SO excited!  I have another Christmas card to share this week and thought the gorgeous Birch Block 2 stamp from Impression Obsession would make a great winter backdrop for my little deer (from Storybook by Avery Elle).  I stamped it using Versamark onto vellum and heat embossed it in white.  I then used Distress inks over the top to add the subtle blue background colour (that’s my resist technique).  I created a frame using the Double Pierced Squares (Avery Elle) and added a cluster of sparkling clear sequins (my favourite Moonshine mix from Simon Says Stamp).  The sentiment and snowflake (which I LOVE) are from the STAMPtember release collaboration with Avery Elle.

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the One Layer Challenge and we hope you will join in with our new theme!

This week the challenge is

Shake It Up

For this challenge we would like to see some shaker style creations, you can shake some ink sprays and give your projects a spritz or use an action wobble to make something shake! Whatever you decide to shake we will be looking forward to seeing it!

We are showcasing WE R MEMORY KEEPERS PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I’m going all gold-tastic this week and it all started with the acetate pad from We R Memory Keepers!  Whilst I was perusing the Simon Says Stamp store looking for something fun for this challenge I stumbled across this 6×6 pad of acetate – it has 4 different patterns (stripes, spots, leopard print and dotty chevrons) in gold, silver and black and it’s AHHHH-MAZING!  My first thought was to use the acetate for the window on a shaker card but then I decided I’d used it as a layer on my card instead.  I made a 4 1/4x x 5″ card from Neenah Solar White 110lb card and cut a piece of the gold spotty acetate to the same width (i didn’t trim anything off the length).  I then scored this at the top and folded it over adhering it just on the back so it hangs sort of loose on the front (if that makes sense??).   My window is just made from vellum using the stitched circles as a frame na d filled it with confetti from this months (Feb) SSS Card Kit.  I die cut the Sending die from gold glitter card and used the sentiment from the co-ordinating stamp set embossed in gold.

Shake it up

Clearly Besotted May Release – 4 more cards

So here we are – the Clearly Besotted May 2015 release will be available at 10pm this evening and to finish off my samples I have, 4 YES 4 more cards to share.  The first features the new April Showers Additions set – a wee add on to the previously released April Showers.  I selectively inked the sentiment using some gorgeous bright rainbow colours (Ranger dye inks <3) and added some texture with a few Doodlebug Sprinkles.

My second card features the new Ribbon Flowers stamp set.  Here I coloured one of the images using Spectrum Noir Aqua markers and then mounted the panel onto a wee 4-bar card made from Papertrey Ink Spring Moss cardstock.

My next two cards feature the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING (sure-to-sell-out-in-minutes) Shaker card dies created in collaboration with Lucy Abrahms.  I am in love with these dies – I just can’t put into words how much!  By the way – don’t you love the woodgrain papers I used on this first card?  Stephanie now stocks a great range of paper pads at the Clearly Besotted store as well as a ton of other products – check out all the new additions HERE!.
