Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Let It Snow Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

As always, the Tim Holtz featured challenges give me nightmares!  I ALWAYS struggle with the grungy style so I do tend to shy away from it.  My project manages to feature a fun TH stencil AND remains clean and simple (and super glittery of course!  I die cut a couple of tags from the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags dies and covered it with a layer of a gorgeous glitter embossing paste using the Holiday Knit TH stencil.  This is such a great (and quick) effect and I think I’ll be using it LOADS for the last few Christmas cards I need to make (like, 50!!!).  For the centre of the tag I used the Circle Sentiments from Simon Says Stamp and embossed it in silver before die cutting it with the Stitched Circle Dies (also from Simon)!  For a last touch of sparkle I used a little rhinestone on the centre of the snowflake.

I thought whilst I had all my stuff out I’d create a matching card to go with the gift tag – makes everything look quite classy I think!!!

The holidays are coming….

Ok – it’s still August but for a papercrafter that means it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming festive holidays such as Halloween and Christmas.  I have to admit that this last three months of the year is my MOST favourite season – I love the Autumn, Halloween, 3 of my children (and myself) have birthdays and then IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!  It’s a wonderful time of year in our house.  So in the spirit of the festive season (soon) I have a dainty little Christmas card to share!!

Today also sees the start of a new challenge today over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Blog and this week theme is everyone’s favourite… ANYTHING GOES!  The design team are featuring products from Memory Box but you don’t have to to enter.

Anything Goes Memory Box

Lately I’ve seen Debby Hughes making lots of cards in a smaller scale (4 bar size) which really appeals to me and is perfect for this little deer die.  I’ve used the Mini Stardust Stencil with some gorgeous silver-glitter sparkle medium with the Leaping Deer die both from Memory Box.  I covered the die cut deer in Versamark and then embossed him in silver fine embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Pretty Poinsettia from Clearly Besotted and is also embossed in silver.

Channeling my inner Debby!

Hiya!  Did you follow the Online Card Class: Stencilled recently?  I did and have to say it is one of my favourites yet!  I LOVED it!  I have a few stencils in my stash and now have so many more ideas to use them.  My lovely friend Debby Hughes once again was such an inspiration and so I took her ideas and came up with this card:

OCC day 3 stencilled

The chicken wire background is actually super-sparkly but it doesn’t show in the photo at all – neither does the shimmer on the birdcage!!  I went over it with a coat of Wink of Stella – Crystal {LOVE}.  Bought myself a few Heidi Swapp mists too – this one is called Seafoam – gives a nice subtle background without overpowering anything – could get addicted to these!
