Avery Elle Winter Release Blog Hop!!

Today is very exciting – it sees the launch of the brand new Winter release from Avery Elle – woo hoo!  This release is amazing and has so many fresh and funky sets to suit all tastes.  Today I’m showcasing the new “You’re Invited” stamp set.  This is an invaluable stamp set to have in your collection, the font is fantastic!

DEC Blog HopI’ve made a Christmas party invitation ( I only see in “Christmas” at this time of year!!) but this set is universal!  If you need to run up a few party invites then this is the set you NEED.  I Cut the aperture for my shaker card using a brand new die which compliments the You’re Invited Stamp Set.  I love this die because it embosses stitching on both the negative AND the positive side of the cut – awesome!!  I used the gorgeous woodgrain card for my panel and some Cherry card stock for the backing onto which I stamped and embossed the sentiment.  The snowflakes are cut using the smallest of the Noel dies – LOVE these dies!

Simon Says – It’s Christmas!!!!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

I just can’t leave the gold alone at the moment – I just have to get it on my card somewhere!!!  I used the Stampendous Snowfall rubber cling stamp for my background and stamped it in Versamark then embossed it in Enchanted Gold embossing powder by Ranger.  I then die-cut the beautiful snowflake from the Noel die collection by Avery Elle from gold card stock and also added a noel sentiment (from Clearly Besotted) in the same gold.  I added my obligatory wrap of gold thread to finish and then mounted the panel on more gold card and popped it onto my A2 card base.

I have been playing with the “must-have” set of the YEAR – the Large Tags  dies.  If you need to add one set to your collection the I think it must be this one.  The tags are generous in size to stand alone as a gift tag or be used to add a perfect focal point to add to a card.  They also compliment the Medium Tag Dies perfectly!

I started with an A2 standard card base and cut a white panel for the front which I trimmed with some of the Peppermint stripe paper from the 2014 Holiday Card Kit.  On the panel I used a “new-to-me” product that hopped into my latest shopping cart at Simon Says Stamp – these gold leaf sheets and adhesive pen.  I used the Falling Snow stencil as a rough guide for my adhesive “spots” and then once the adhesive had set I added the gold leaf.  It gives an effect like no other gold medium (that I know of) – even embossing powder doesn’t shine quite like this stuff – it may become my latest addiction!  I die cut one of the tags from the Large Tags die set and spritzed it with Heidi Swapp Gold Lame shine spray.  I die-cut the Merry Christmas (from Simon Says Stamp) from gold card and added a red heart cut using the Stitched Shapes die collection.  To finish I added a bow from gold thread.
