Case Study Challenge with Danielle Flanders!

Good morning – today is a very exciting day on my wee blog because for the month of February – I’m guest designing over at the Case Study Challenge hosted by the very lovely Iwona (Chupa)!!  I was thrilled when I was asked but then when I found out who this month’s muse was I was ecstatic!  It’s only Danielle Flanders!!  I adore her blog and style – she can do it all – CAS, shabby chic, modern, layered etc.  What a delight to be caseing her wonderful designs.CSC177 DF

Her first card is so stylish and bold – I took my inspiration from the gold, the contrasting black and white and the touches of vellum.  Here’s what I came up with…

I used one of the new sets from this months CBS release – Superstar – love this set – it’s perfect for masculine cards which I always struggle with!!  I was having so much fun with all my gold supplies I thought I might as well do another while I was at it!!!

There you go – two for the price of one, lol!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

The striped stamp was from Market Street Stamps which is no longer trading and so I’m not able to link it up – sorry!

Case Study – turning up the heat!

Happy Saturday everyone – hope you’re enjoying your weekend?  I’ve enjoyed, erm ENDURED a week without the hubby whilst he’s been off skiing and although I’ve been struck down with a nasty cold for most of it, I have managed to fit in a bit of crafty time here and there.  I have also had a bit a of a play with my blog – just fancied a change – what do you think??  There’s still some bits and pieces I want to tweak but on the whole I think it’s ok!!

So my card today was inspired by Donna Mikasa who is the current muse over at Case Study Challenge. Whilst hers screams “cool” I kinda veered the other way and went HOT!!  Well, we need some warmth at this time of year, don’t we??  (Australians need not answer that!!!).

merry Christmas Reindeer (1)I used my Martha Stewart mini score board to deboss some lines on to my mat then brayered over it with Dried Marigold distress ink.  The sentiment from the new Clearly Besotted Say it in Style set was then heat embossed in white.  To make it pop a wee bit more I rubbed some Spiced Marmalade DI just around the sentiment – adds just a touch of dimension!  Well, I am being a taxi for the best part of the afternoon so better get some jobs done!  Have a lovely weekend everyone xxx

CASE study challenge – more Maile!

Hi there, just here to share a card inspired by this week’s Case Study challenge – another stunning card from Maile Belles.  I was really taken with the colours and the little extra embellishments she used – instead of the pin and die cut word I used a couple of wee sequins and a die cut star border.  I hope I haven’t messed with her design too much!?

Here’s Maile’s card:

And here’s my take:

I’m off for a nice long soak in the bath with a wee glass of wine and my ipod!  We’re going to friends for dinner this evening so need to get a wriggle on or I won’t be ready!!

Enjoy your weekend all!
