Avery Elle / Cardmaker Magazine Blog Hop

Cardmakerbloghopbanner1

Today is a fun day because the Avery Elle design team is teaming up with our friends over at CardMaker Magazine for a fun blog hop.   Be sure to stop by our company and designer blogs to be inspired and enter for a chance to win a prize.  One lucky commenter will be drawn at random and will win a $30 Avery Elle Gift Certificate.  You have all week to enter to win.  The winner of the Avery Elle Gift Certificate will be announced on the Avery Elle blog on Monday, June 29th.

You should have arrived here from the gorgeous blog of AJ Otto but if you’ve wandered in here and want to go back to the start of the blog hop then please scroll down for the full schedule.

I’m featuring the fabulously unique “Geek Love” stamp set today designed by my mega-talented teamie, JJ Bolton.  This is the most adorable set, I just love how you can change the look of the little peeps with different hair styles, clothes etc.  For my card I started with a piece of water-colour cardstock and used distress inks to create my background.  I die cut this using the Burst die and then used the pierced circles to create a frame.  I stamped, coloured (Copics) and fussy cut the boy and girl and speech bubbles and then assembled the card.

The next stop on this super fun hop is the lovely Anita Mulcahey so off you go and enjoy the rest of the inspiration along the way.

Avery Elle: Petal Panel

Hey there, I’m sharing a card over at Avery Elle today and this week I’ve been playing with the new Petal Plate die.  This die is SO cool and comes with different insert designs so you can use them to create all kinds of different patterns.

I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour card and added some  Kuretake Gamsai watercolour paint across the whole area so that there was a mixing of colours – I love the end result.  I then cut the panel from white card and used just the frame portion laid over the top.  I finished with the sentiment from the Petal Panel stamp set to finish it off.

Simon Says Stamp – The Colour of Fun

colorfun

I’m so excited by the brand new release from Simon Says Stamp called The Colour of Fun.  How can you be totally inspired by that colour palette – it’s just so scrummy!  I can’t wait to collect all of those new inks but in the meantime I have been having a wee play with some of the other new products in this release.  My first card features an AMAZING die – I just LOVE it.  I die cut the circle sentiment and cupcake from white card and popped out the frosting part of the cake and scribbled some RV81 (Rose pink) Copic marker over it (just roughly, I didn’t want it to be too smooth.  I coated it in Glossy Accents and then sprinkled some distress glitter on the top.  I used a panel of patterned paper from the Sorbet collection from Avery Elle and mounted it all onto an Avery Elle notecard.

My next card is a clean and simple one layer card using the Many Thanks stamp set and the Big Scripty Greetings set.  There is a design for everyone in this release – I have so much on my wish list!!
