Avery Elle Summer 2021 Release Blog Hop

It’s an exciting day in the Avery Elle Universe – the brand new Summer 2021 release is LIVE!

I have been DYING to share some cards I’ve made with this release and now I can! I have designed 3 new sets )the Layered Cupcake, Layered Ice-Cream and You Rock!) – woohoo – I hope you love them xxx

Today I’m focusing on the You Rock stamps and dies. I LOVE retro 50’s style. I wish I could go back in time to a diner and order a coke float sundae and put Ritchie Valens on the jukebox.

Doesn’t this card make you want to jive? I stamped the sundae image and die cut it along with 3 more from white card. I stacked them up with liquid glue and added some rock candy distress glitter here and there. I stamped the checkerboard border in pink and cut a flag panel using the fabulous new Easy Layers 1 die set. I am definitely keeping this one on my desk at all times!!

I used one of the little sparkle element stamps from the You Rock set to stamp some interest on the panel and heat embossed them in white Sparkling Snow embossing powder from WOW.

To finish off I stamped the retro sign andHappy Birthday on it with a bit of shading using Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to the circles to make them look like lightbulbs!

My second card is all about the Jukebox! I stamped and heat embossed the jukebox image then die cut it. I coloured it with Karin markers and added glossy accents to highlight a few parts. I made a mat using the Double Pierced Rectangle die set and cut it from aqua and gold to pick up the gold elements I added on the jukebox.

I wanted the sentiment to go on the jukebox itself but still wanted to use the sign so I just cut off the extra bit I didn’t need – simples!!

To finish I stamped a few music notes and a record and added them for a little more pazazz!!

Supplies:

You Rock Clear Stamps

You Rock Elle-ments

Easy Layers 1 Elle-ments

Double Pierced Rectangle Elle-ments

And now for something completely different!

No, this isn’t an episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus (she says showing her age)! I am sharing a project I’ve been working on and it’s a bit different to my usual creations! Lately I’ve been enjoying using my supplies and tools to try to stretch them and get the most from them. I LOVE scrolling through Pinterest, ETSY, Instagram and even TikTok looking at gorgeous home decor and crafts. I am in love with shadow boxes right now and have a whole bunch of different ones sitting in a cupboard that I bought with full intentions to create magical works of art.

Well, instead of leaving them there to collect dust I am turning them into something beautiful. And here’s my first one!

Isn’t this fun? I am very happy with this considering it’s my first real go at it. And I’m particularly pleased because I used all materials that I already owned!

The rainbow was created using the Pinkfresh Rainbow Colour Block Die. I cut it multiple times from white cardstock then stacked them for dimension. The top layers were each inked using Catherine Pooler Inks then heat embossed three times with clear embossing powder and a 4th time with holographic embossing powder. I adhered it onto some heavyweight white card cut to fit the back panel of the frame and used liquid glue to add Essentials By Ellen rainbow Droplets.

The clouds at the front were cut using a die from Avery Elle (shh, this is a sneak peek!!) and layered up twice to give more dimension.

Once everything was secured and dried I put the frame back together. To personalise it I used my Cricut Explore to cut my daughter’s name from white vinyl. Isn’t it pretty?!

Get Cracking On Christmas April Edition

Hey – it’s time to #getcrackingonchristmas

Look at me go, two months in a row creating holiday cards and joining in with Jenn Shurkus and her Get Cracking On Christmas monthly “challenge”. It’s not a contest type challenge, but a personal one! A way to avoid the last minute rush of needing to create a gazillion cards on 1st December!

On the third Thursday of every month, a bunch of us (and we encourage you to join us) share a holiday card created using whatever stamps, dies, products you desire. The aim is to just get cracking (clue is in the name) on getting those cards ticked off your list.

The card I’m sharing today brings together some fabulous products from some of my FAVOURITE companies. You can get it all at Ellen Hutson.com HERE!

I started with a white card base using Neenah Solar White and inked Concord and 9th Seaglass ink around the edge. For the main panel of my card I used some Tithe Gina K Snowflake Stencil and softly inked some Concord and 9th Seaglass ink throughit. I just wanted a faint image for the background. I then added some white embossing paste sprinkled with iridescent glitter. I would have used the Gina K white glitter paste but I’m waiting to get my hands on it!

For the sentiment I used Avery Elle Bright die and stamp set and layered it with vellum. To finish I added a few rhinestones because there’s never enough sparkle, right?

Check out my cards from March 2021 below …
