What’s that you say?? 64 days till Christmas?? Just as well I’ve had some yummy new products from the MFT October release to play with to help me along with my Christmas card projects! Yay, I’m super excited to guest designing this month over on the My Favourite Things blog and today I have the first of 6 projects to share with you.
I adore the new Winter Wonderland stamp set and thought the Snow Drifts cover plate would make the perfect backdrop for my mountain village scene! I used the cover plate to cut some glitter card and adhered it in place on my card front (minus the frame). The houses, deer and trees were stamped, die cut then coloured with Zig Clean Colour Markers and arranged with over top with plenty of foam tape. To finish I cut two banners using the Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 4 and white heat embossed the sentiment – also from Winter Wonderland.
My second card just makes me happy – I give you, Buddy the Elf (in paper form)! My absolute favourite Christmas movie of ALL TIME is Elf and so instead of using the Santa Suit Die-namics for Santa, I’ve made Buddy’s suit. I started with a green card base and cut the suit elements from gold, black and green card. His suit has some gold detail so I used some of the smaller elements from some of the new stamp sets from this release and gold embossed them. The collars are cut from felt too – fun!!!
The last of my projects for today features another AMAZING set called Snow Flurry (psst, scroll down for details about you can win this stamp set ;). I went a bit crazy with watercolour paints and white embossing powder and LOVE the end result!

Gorgeous cards!!! Can you please list the Zig Clean Color Marker Colors you used, it helps SO MUCH!! I love your coloring & it would be so awesome to know what colors you used to blend so well. Thank you!!!!
I would have to say that it is playing secret santa
I love all of your cards, but the snowflake one is my favorite. My mom passed away on Valentines Day this year, so I will take over her tradition of buying presents from ornament trees around the valley. It just broke her heart to think of a child not having Christmas.
Love your card-especially the snowflakes-I just love that background. My favorite thing about Christmas is family. My mom passed on Valentines Day this year, so I will take over her tradition of buying presents from the ornament trees for underprivileged children.

Beautiful cards, I love all the details and love that movie Elf. My favorite thing about Christmas is the decorations, the looks on my kids faces is priceless.
Love the snowdrifts behind the houses! All the cards are clever and the snowflakes are beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win snowflakes! What makes Christmas special to me?…ahhh…the lights, the music, the anticipation, the smiles on faces and in hearts, moments and memories with friends and family, and Charlie Brown’s Christmas video! Christmas “sparkles”…who can resist sparkles!
I love the movie Elf too! Sometimes I watch mid year because I can’t wait until Christmas :). Love the way you used the Santa suit dies and changed it up to make an elf! I have too many favorites in the days leading up to Christmas making cookies, singing carols, & watching movies and of course Midnight mass.
My favorite thing is decorating outside inside tree trimming and making decorations for a fun festive holiday sharing with family and friends.
Wow- love the watercolor snowflakes! So peaceful looking. My favorite thing about Christmas is being with family.
Each one of them is gorgeous, Caryn!! Love your takes on these awesome MFT products! Congrats on your guest design!
I love the family gathering and opening up presents to each other!!!
I was so impressed by your cards on the MFT blog I wanted to come here to tell you how much I LOVE them! My favorite is the Christmas scene you created, love the glittery, snowy “hills” you made with the Snowdrift die!! That’s one item I was able to purchase from this last release that I know I’ll be using again and again! My favorite thing about Christmas is the love and kindness that people exude at that time of year 🙂
LOVE your cards! Buddy the Elf card is so PERFECT and that is a favorite movie of all time for our family too!!! TFS!!!
My favorite thing about Christmas is celebrating the Birth of my Lord and Savior with family and friends. xoxo
My favorite thing about Christmas is having the house all decorated and the traditions we have that bring the family together for fun and new memories.
I love your cards, especially the first one. All those glittery snowdrifts behind the scene! My favorite thing about Christmas is the music. My playlist can go nearly six days without a repeat. I can’t wait to start listening to it once Thanksgiving is over!
Your cards are just great. Love the glittering snow banks and the gingerbread houses, the elf in green is really an interesting card! The gold on the green is just the right touch. Ah, the snowflakes are so pretty. Love the white embossing and the watercolors! I just love the watercolor look and to make backgrounds with it. Putting a vellum snowflake which is embossed on top is icing on the card/Cake. Lovely card. Thanks for sharing. I like best being with family for Christmas. My sister lives far away and it is always a treat to spend Christmas with her – we think alike and enjoy the same things so it is always a fun time.
Congratulations on your GD spot! Your cards are absolutely beautiful! The little snow scene is precious! I love the dies you used on both cards! My favorite thing about Christmas is our family get-together and dinner on Boxing Day. The whole family is there and it’s the only time we’re all together in one place.
So many things to love about Christmas. But, one of my favorite things to do is bake cookies. I belong to a local group called “Treat the Troops”. We send homemade cookies to our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanastan. We’ve been doing this for years. Each soldier receives a box of 12 dozen cookies to share with their unit. It’s a lot of work but oh so worth it.
My favourite thing about Christmas is having time with my family.
