Avery Elle Fall Release 2020

Well after a few delays we’re finally here with the much-anticipated Avery Elle Fall 2020 release. You are sure to find something you LOVE amongst all the gorgeous new products (if not EVERYTHING) and with so much inspiration along the hop you’re gonna have a hard time choosing!! Also, I have two sets that I’ve designed for this release – Nordic Patterns and Christmas Cookies – and I can’t wait to share what I’ve made with them!

My first card features both the Nordic Patterns and Christmas Cookies stamp sets. By the way, they don’t have to be cookies, lol!! I thought the primitive heart shape would blend perfectly with the folky feel of the pattern builder set and I love how they work together.

To get the two-colour design I used a MISTI stamping tool but these stamps are really easy to line up with regular acrylic blocks too. Notice how the row of hearts sits neatly in between the deers?

My next card shows how you can use the same stamps, rearranged to give a totally different pattern and look – using white heat embossing. Again, I took two of the “cookies” from the Christmas Cookies set and stamped and die cut them (theres a cute cuff die for both the mitten and the stocking too). If you have a MISTI, then you can create multiple backgrounds both embossed or stamped in a rainbow of colours in a very short time! After heat embossing with Avery Elle Fine Detail white embossing powder I blended purple and mint green inks over the top and finished but die cutting the panel using the Wonky Rectangles die. I made my sandwich a bit thick so my paper crumpled slightly (grr) – noted for next time!!

To complete the card I added some glitter Nuvo drops to the centres of the snowflakes and the cuff of the mitten and stamped the sentiment onto a hand cut banner.

I was really happy with this colour combo so whilst I still had the inks out I thought I’d whip up another card! This time I simply used the row of 3 larger snowflakes and added a large sentiment using the new Happy Holidays word die. I blended the two colours onto a piece of white card and then die cut the sentiment ( I LOVE THIS DIE)!!

I added a few dots of sparkle again to the centre of the snowflakes and I was done!

How about one for the road? I wanted to create a card showing how this stamp set can be used to create backgrounds of unlimited size. Each stamp will line up end to end so that you can keep on stamping for as far as the eye can see! Great for decorating wrapping paper or for making those larger cards. I made a card base measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″ and cut a panel slightly smaller. I stamped the trio of snowflakes along the panel in blue then below in grey and used the smaller snowflake stamp to fill in the areas where they create a space. This same principle can be used with any of the stamps so the possibilities are truly endless!
