Hello and HAPPY MONDAY! It’s Avery Elle day every Monday on my blog and today I’m sharing a cute little project I made over the weekend. My 4 girls are always reading AND they are all big animal lovers (if I had a penny for every time I’d heard “can we get a dog?” I’d be living it up in the Caribbean right now!!). We are definitely a cat family though so I thought I’d combine some amazing new Avery Elle products and create a little bookmark for each of them. (I didn’t make one for my 15 year old son – he’s far too cool for that)! I definitely need more practice colouring animals – please don’t look too closely, lol! Aren’t they adorable stamps though – the critters from Furry Friends sit perfectly on top of the books from the This Book stamp set – my personal favourite is the ginger one curled up asleep on top of the books – that’s so what a cat would do!
I stamped each of the animals onto masking paper and cut them out (only the bottom half needs to be cut if you’re in a hurry) and then I stamped each one on to a bookmark die cut from white card stock. I then placed the mask over the animals and stamped the pile of books below them so each one looks perfectly perched on top of the stack of books! I just coloured them in with Copic markers (not brilliantly though, I need to go back and revisit the Copic colouring class from Online Card Classes I think – where is Kathy Racoosin when I need her, lol??)
Thanks for stopping by today – happy crafting xxx
I love the cats!!
Oh my, these are fantastic – and your coloring is amazing 🙂
These look amazing…and I think your colouring is great. I like it so much that you inspired me in 2 ways…with ohelping me make a class set of book marks for my son’s Dinosaur Store at school and to stamp with the lighter Memento ink. Wonderful job. I hope you don’t mind if I link up your blog to my Flickr post when I post my bookmark- to give you credit for the inspiration..
Oh my gosh, you are being way too hard on yourself! Those furries look AMAZING! I had to pop over to get a closer look! My kids would love a bookmark like this. I doubt I could get them to look as nice as yours though. What did you stamp with? A grey ink? You did an amazing job and ought to be so proud! 🙂
Aw, thank you so much Carrie! I used Memento London Fog ink – oops forgot to link it! It’s what you need to use with Copics and is a nice, softer alternative to black. I bet you ‘d make some gorgeous bookmark designs – do you have a blog? I’d love to visit!

So cute. Colouring looks good, much better than mine. Hugs Marg.
I love these. Your coloring looks perfect on my screen. Wouldn’t change a thing!
