Well happy weekend all – cold innit?  I am nursing a bruised bottom today (thanks to a wee slip on the ice this morning – grrrr) – so thought I’d put my sudden immobility to some use and create a card for my brother’s birthday (which is actually today so is going to be a tad belated – sorry Dan!!)
I was inspired by the new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge which is to be inspired by a movie.  I LOVE movies and one of my all time favourite actors is Robert DeNiro.  This card is a nod to one of his best films, The Deerhunter.  All products are Papertrey Ink (Masculine Motifs and A Little Argyle stamp sets – so underused but so useful for blokey cards!)

Well, hope you all stay safe wherever you are and be careful on those icy pavements – take it from someone who knows!!!

  2. Stunning card!
Thanks for playing at CAS-ual Fridays!

  3. Oh dear, I hope your bruises clear up soon, sounds painful bless you!

I love this card Caryn, it’s amazing! Fab colour choice, use of background stamp and the deer is gorgeous. Very different for a blokey card!!

    Katrina 🙂

  4. Fantastic masculine card Caryn – very ‘arty’. Thanks for your hilarious comments on my blog, you always did know how to make me chuckle lol I’m guessing Chris is back now, hope you gave him a good home-coming after all those treats he left you 😉 xxx

  5. Poor thing! Still no snow over there then? I think we must have had your share!
Loooooooooove this card, hun! It’s going straight into my inspiration file for guy cards (along with my want for that set!)

  6. OUch! Sorry about your slip 🙁 We can’t even see pavement here yet, we’ve had 18 inches of snow fall over the last 36 hours. It just finally stopped…I hope! 🙂 This is a fabulous masculine card and a great nod to a great movie 🙂 Thanks for playing along at CAS-ual Fridays!

  7. What a GREAT take on the Deer Hunter movie! I love the subtle tones and and stamping. Perfect masculine card for a brother! So glad that you join the fun with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
