First of my samples!!

My mother and father-in-law celebrate 40 years of marriage in July.  What makes it even more special is that both have fought serious illnesses in the past and could so easily not even be here.  Hubby’s dad had a massive brain haemorrage when he was 37 (25 years ago) and has been left with disabilities.  His mum was then diagosed a couple of years later with leukaemia.  Both have battled their way back from death’s door more than once and so to be here about to reach 40 years together is nothing short of a miracle.
So to mark the occasion we are having a BIG old party and so invitations are required.  I am going to make a few samples for her to chose from and then go in to mass production mode (not looking forward to that part – I NEVER make the same card twice.  Anyhoo, it has to be a simple design that can be easily replicated so I have come up with this as my first attempt.  All supplies are Papertrey Ink.

I have done a cream version (with Pure Poppy and Enchanted Evening ink) and a white version (with Scarlet Jewel and Enchanted Evening ink). I haven’t put on the “You’re Invited” part yet as I’m waiting for my stamps to arrive!!  They’re very CAS, I know but that’s what she likes and to be honest, I’m going to have to make about 70 of these blighters so the more CAS the better!!!!
I will share some more samples as I make them.

Hugs,
Caryn xxx

  1. Caryn, your samples are great! I’m sure your in-laws will be pleased with all of them and will have a tough choice to make. Let us know which one they choose.

  2. Caryn, I tend to have a bit of a block about duplicating cards too, but these are doable. I prefer the top one (I think it’s the Pure Poppy/cream), but be sure to let us know which sample she picks!

  3. Hey Caryn,
Love these. I like CAS too!
Also just in case you aren’t checking the PTI forum, wanted to let you know that someone responded to your thread about 2008 anniversary set. She said she has a few and wants to get rid of them. See your original thread on the boards. Think her name is AprilG. Sent you a PM on the forum, but also letting you know here in case you check here first.
    Good luck!

  4. These are beautiful and shouldn’t be too hard to replicate–over and over and over. My husband and I aren’t that far away from our 40th. Rather than a party, we’re planning a big trip.

  5. Beautiful! Simple, but striking.

  6. Love this design. It’s classic and timeless.
I enjoy mass producing cards and invitations. I only have to figure out the design once. 🙂

  7. Both lovely although I like the second one best, and simple enough to make loads of.

  8. These look fabulous, Caryn!!! You’ll have to let us know which one they choose!

  9. They are fabulous! Totally love the top one! Have fun!

  10. I like it! It’s pretty and simple enough to mass produce.

  11. these are very stylish!! Love them! Hugs Juls
